Korean actress Park Shin Hye, who starred in dramas such as “You’re Beautiful,” “Heartstrings” and “The Heirs,” is building a space to benefit poor children of Manila.
The center will be completed in October, according to her agency, S.A.L.T Entertainment.
The idea was spurred when the 26-year-old star visited Manila for a pictorial for Singles magazine back in March.
During her stay, she met Filipino children in Sampaloc, Manila. She spent some time with them, painting t-shirts using materials she brought from Korea. She also invited 150 children to lunch.
A ceremony was held to mark the start of the construction of the Manila center recently.
Appointed as ambassador of the charity organization Korea Food for the Hungry International (KFHI), Park Shin Hye formed the Starlight Angel Project with fans, building the first Shin Hye Center in Ghana in 2013, equipped with a library and playground.
The Manila center will also have similar facilities.
